Description
Faster upwind, and more time downwinding reaching higher top speeds with the new F-ONE FRIGATE V2 pocket wing.
Whether you’re heading upwind for a long run or exploring coastlines, the FRIGATE takes you further with greater ease.
Building on the original design, this second version features a wider wind range. Whilst remaining intuitive to use, the V2 has increased stability, improved pumping efficiency in the low end and greater responsiveness. And it’s even easier to stash!
F-ONE FRIGATE V2 FEATURES
- Wider wind range: Increased efficiency throughout the entire wind range and enhanced stability in the high end.
- Outstanding speed and upwind performance: Higher aspect ratio and an optimized profile with a greater number of ribs for sharper accelerations, better upwind ability in both low and high end, and increased top speed
- Increased responsiveness: Additional ribs for greater tautness and improved pumping efficiency.
- Easier handling and packing: New Double Dynamic Bridle System, shorter bridles and Pack Assist for improved maneuverability, quicker deployment and stashing, and fewer tangles.
- Increased depower: Greater depower for more comfortable riding in the high end and the ability to ride with smaller foils and boards.
- Optimized construction: New fabrics and Ultra Light Ribs construction for reduced weight and greater responsiveness.
- New vertical bar: A more ergonomic design for better grip, increased comfort and maximum depower.
This new FRIGATE boasts a refined profile featuring a higher aspect ratio, delivering better efficiency upwind and faster accelerations. Combined with additional ribs, the FRIGATE is more reactive and benefits from improved pumping capabilities, particularly in the low end.
Overall, the wind range of this FRIGATE is wider, making this parawing incredibly versatile and delivering consistent performance from the low end to the high end alike. It generates smooth, efficient power in lighter winds while remaining stable and predictable when the breeze builds.
The new Double Dynamic Bridle System, with fewer connection points, makes the parawing feel more direct while reducing the risk of tangles. Combined with shorter bridles and the new Pack Assist system, the FRIGATE is quicker to deploy, easier to stash and more intuitive to handle before, during and after every run. The new vertical carbon bar further enhances comfort with improved ergonomics and maximum depower when needed.
OPTIMIZED SIZES
Every size has been optimized to achieve the same performance and intuitive handling while reducing overall weight. All sizes benefit from the new Ultra Light Ribs Technology, reducing weight without compromising stiffness, as well as from a new, softer fabric that packs down smaller.
The larger sizes (5.5, 6.5 m²) also feature a hybrid fabric construction on the trailing section that is 20% lighter. This helps these parawings stay in the air, improves responsiveness and enhances low-end performance.
Thanks to its stability, intuitive handling, comfort and exceptional upwind performance, the FRIGATE remains the reference choice for intermediate to experienced riders looking for a compact, efficient and high-performance parawing.
TECHNOLOGIES
Double Dynamic Bridle System
The innovative Double Dynamic Bridle System allows the removal of the B-connector on the bar without adding any yoke, pulley, or complex bridle layout, resulting in a system that’s as clean and simple as it is effective. The reduced complexity minimizes any risk of tangling while delivering precise feedback and intuitive power control.
This system acts simultaneously on both the front and back lines, optimizing the shape and balance of the parawing when sheeted in and sheeted out. Some bridles are activated when the wing is sheeted out, while others are when sheeted in, with no adjustment required from the rider, making everything more efficient and natural.
Thanks to this design, the parawing gains in comfort, especially in the high-end, even without a harness. Removing the central bridles also fully clears the bar area, offering a wider grip zone, increased freedom of movement, and a simpler visual read while riding.
Finally, this Double Dynamic Bridle System maximizes performance in both the low and high end, while ensuring easier stashing and much faster deployment at the end of a downwind run. It also allows better control of sail tension, significantly reducing creases even when it is fully sheeted out.
Pack Assist
The Pack Assist system uses a set of front bridles that immediately reduces the wing’s power. Simply slide your hand a few centimeters along the white spliced bridles, and the parawing instantly becomes neutral.
The wing then naturally adopts a stable shape for downwind runs and is perfectly suited to be stowed in a stash belt.
Thanks to this architecture, there is no longer any need for a depower handle. The bridle system is simple and clean, making the parawing even easier to use and to pack effortlessly.
Ultra Light Ribs
The entire support structure, including the ribs, mini ribs and diagonal ribs, has been optimized and lightened to reduce weight. This innovation improves packability, helps the wing stay in the air in light winds, and delivers stronger accelerations.
Vertical Bar
The parawing features a vertical carbon bar designed with a molded piece and added length at the front. This design improves grip and comfort, especially near the front bridles, while providing a true support point that is particularly effective in high winds.
This slight extension of the bar allows the rider to sheet out more easily, without excessive effort or wrist strain. It optimizes the balance between the front and back hand, and reduces front-hand pressure when riding without a harness. This ergonomic design ensures efficient handling and makes learning more intuitive.
The rider can also lean on this balance point and sheet out in a single movement. In strong winds, when immediate depower is required, this bar overhang offers a significant gain in stability and control.
The bar also integrates a small shielding tube at the A-point, fully protecting the fingers when the sail pivots when sheeted out at its maximum, or when packing. It raises the rotation point as well, making all handling smoother and more comfortable while further improving the depower efficiency.
Finally, the bar benefits from an EVA grip for improved handling, along with EVA bumpers on all angles to protect both rider and gear from shocks.
DETAILS
Hybrid Fabric
The bigger sizes (5.5, 6.5 m²) of the FRIGATE are developed using two premium fabrics. Selected to meet specific demands, each fabric delivers performance, durability and packability. A stronger 32 g fabric is used on the front section of the sail to maintain the profile and ensure stability, while a lighter and softer fabric is used on the rear section and underside to reduce weight. This hybrid construction delivers a lighter, more compact and easier-to-pack parawing without compromising performance.
Bag
Designed for maximum convenience, this parawing’s bag can be used as a backpack and worn directly on the water. It allows you to pack your parawing straight into the bag during your session, and benefits from quick-drying materials as well.
